The winners of the urbanbubble HERO Awards 2025
This year, we celebrated all the incredible work done by all our amazing people at urbanbubble at the annual internal HERO Awards, an awards event where we constantly get to recognise the people who make us great, with the awards taking the names of our values: Hardworking, Innovative, Passionate, Professional, Effective & Engaging… and some extra awards for good measure.
With the epicentre of the awards being in our home city, Manchester, hundreds of people came from around the country to celebrate together, so now it’s time to recognise those who won!
First up was the winner of the Hardworking Award, Rosiandra Toleido, Housekeeper at Viadux for her impeccable standards in every detail of her work and consistently being a model of commitment. Taking home the runner-up prize was Kerry Burge, the Community Manager of the Media City sites, with her colleagues saying she consistently demonstrates the core values of urbanbubble

Next was the winner of the Innovative Award, Caroline Bousfield, Health and Safety Co-ordinator. Caroline embodies all the urbanbubble values and always thinks outside the box, thinking of ways in which we can work more efficiently and innovatively. Coming up to accept the runner-up was Kamil Jakobczyk, Community & Operations Manager at Florence Dock who unfortunately was unable to attend the ceremony. He has a strong commitment to our values and showed this during a particularly challenging period and always offers one-to-one support to anyone struggling.

Moving on with the Passionate Award, the winner was Mohamed Hassan, Front of House at Wood Street House, the stunning Built to Rent community in Cardiff, who dialed in on FaceTime from the Welsh capital to accept his award. His team nominated him for his unending passion in his role and how he constantly shines through and for his amazing HomeViews reviews. Rumyana Petkova, Mobilisation Manager, took home the runner-up for the passionate award, with her colleagues nominating her for displaying every urbanbubble value and being highly respected.

For the Professional Award, we had joint winners. Taking home the prizes were Jack Thomas, Service Charge Accountant, and Verity Hill, Data Analyst. Both have been amazing in supporting their teams, building professional relationships with everyone they come into contact with, and for working tirelessly in their respective roles. Verity was unable to collect her award, so Chloe Danks, Insights and Data Manager, collected it on her behalf.

The awards continued with the Effective Award, with Building Services Manager at Box Makers Yard Ryan Auchterlonie taking home the win for his exceptional work in planning and organising the maintenance team for fast turnarounds. Taking the runner-up award was Lisa Rochester from the People Team, for her clear determination to always deliver tasks on time and get them over the finish line and building connections between our wider business nationally. Her close colleagues Rebecca Hill and Grace Cooper collected the award on her behalf.

The last Values prize was for the Engaging award. The winner was Joe Cloney, Front of House (Night) for being instrumental in engaging with the residents at Viadux and establishing a welcoming and supportive atmosphere making sure residents feel valued. Getting runner-up was Craig Battel, IT Infrastructure Manager, with his colleagues describing him as a gem in the Technology Team and always eager to help with anything.

But that wasn’t it for the awards! The HERO Team award recognises the team that not only demonstrates all urbanbubble values, but the team that works the best together. For this award, there were three total winners. The MediaCityUK Site Team, The Fold, and Viadux all won for their amazing and dedicated work as a team.

At urbanbubble, we are dedicated to not only benefitting the lives of those who live in communities but having a lasting impact on the local communities and businesses around our sites. That’s why we recognised two teams for their work on Social Value. Wood Street House, our community in Cardiff, took home the award for their ongoing work to provide cooking for those affected by homelessness in the surrounding area, and our Head Office Team won the award as well for their contributions to Caritas, a Salford-based charity that focuses on helping the homeless, where they volunteered at kitchens and food banks.

The final award that was given out was the Superhero Award. This award recognises the person who received the most votes across all categories. The recipient of the award was Sean Dunne, Assistant Mobilisation Manager, receiving a total of 5 votes!

It’s incredibly important that we constantly recognise everyone for their dedication and hard work so, congratulations to all the winners and nominees at this year’s urbanbubble HERO Awards!
